As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, several technologies were significantly impacting and reshaping various aspects of our world.

However, please note that the technology landscape is constantly evolving. Here are seven technologies that were influential:  Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning:

5G Technology: The rollout of 5G networks promised faster and more reliable connectivity, enabling advancements in communication, autonomous vehicles,

IoT, and augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR).  Blockchain and Cryptocurrency: Beyond cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, blockchain technology was being explored for its potential applications in secure transactions, supply chain management, and more. 

Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering: Advancements in genetic engineering and biotechnology were transforming healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sustainability, with breakthroughs in

CRISPR technology, personalized medicine, and gene editing.  Renewable Energy and Energy Storage: Technologies in renewable energy sources (solar, wind, etc.)

and energy storage solutions were gaining momentum to address climate change and transition toward sustainable energy systems. 

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR): AR and VR technologies were increasingly used not only in gaming and entertainment but also in industries like healthcare, education,

training, and remote collaboration.  Please note that thesetechnologies are constantly evolving, and there might have been significant advancements or emerging technologies since then that continue to shape our world.
